Family trip to Napa!

Brandon was on vacation last Friday, so we decided to head to Napa for the day with Ella and Lexi.  We planned on having a picnic and visiting two wineries, but we actually got to do three which was a nice surprise!  It was a little stressful getting everything together for the trip - picnic basket, Ella's bag of goodies, Lexi's water and treats, sunscreen, cooler, etc. - but once we were out the door it was a piece of cake.

Our first stop was Rombauer.  They have beautiful gardens that are nice and shaded and picnic tables everywhere.  We purchased a bottle of wine and headed to find our table.  We got a nice spot that overlooked the vineyards below us and enjoyed a nice lunch.

The "local" dog that lives at Rombauer - he just walked up and sat next to Ella!

Ella picnicking...No, we did not let her drink, although it looks like she was considering it!

Our next stop was not planned, but we had heard good things about Frog's Leap so we decided to stop by and see if they could work us in for a tasting.  They sat us at one of their tables on the porch where they have big ceiling fans which was perfect given it was so hot outside!  We enjoyed our tasting and Lexi and Ella enjoyed the cheese and crackers they provided!

Don't you think Lexi blends right in!

Our last stop was Raymond.  We had heard that they have a great "zoo" of farm animals (mainly goats and sheep), but unfortunately we did not get to see them since they are currently doing a renovation and had all the animals moved to an area in the back of the property.  It was still a nice visit and we enjoyed the friendly staff and the impromptu tour of their private tasting room!

It was a great day and we are ready to go back soon!

Happy Father's Day!

I am so behind in our blog updates and I just realized I never posted pictures from Father's Day!

We had a nice relaxing day.  We cooked daddy breakfast and played outside for a little while.  Later we went to our neighbors for a cookout and enjoyed visiting with everyone.

Ella and Lexi are very lucky to have such a wonderful daddy!  They truly adore him and LOVE him and they light up when he enters the room.  He is so patient and playful and I love seeing their relationship grow each and every day.  Thank you daddy for being so wonderful!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July to all of our family and friends! We are truly blessed to have the freedom's that we have and we are so very thankful for each and everyone of you!

This morning we went to the annual Danville 4th of July parade in downtown Danville.  We have been hearing about the parade since we moved here and decided this was the year to go.  It's a pretty big deal in Danville, so Brandon and Scott (our old neighbor) had to go yesterday to block off our spot!  It gets pretty competitive to get space blocked off so they allow you to start setting up chairs and tents the evening before the parade.  The guys did a great job and found the perfect location for us.  Ella loved the parade and actually watched the entire two hours waving her flag and going through all her "goodies" that the kids in the parade handed out.

Here are a few pictures from the parade!
